Andover Days: Spring or fall? Organizers will decide

By April Guilmet

Organizers have not decided yet when they will host this year's Andover Days celebration.

Donald Robb, a member of the Andover Historical Society's board of directors, said five sponsoring groups were scheduled to meet Wednesday, Jan. 31, after Townsman deadline, to discuss whether to hold the festivities in the spring or fall.

Last week, Rosemary Radulski, vice president of the Andover Business Center Association, reported that ABCA members recently voted in favor of scheduling this year's Andover Days for June.

"There are five sponsoring organizations. They all have a say in this," Robb said. "And while the request for June was indeed made, it still hasn't been decided yet."

Representatives from the Andover Business Association, the Andover Historical Society, the Andover Cultural Committee, the League of Women Voters, and the Department of Community Services were scheduled to discuss the issue further yesterday, Wednesday, according to Robb.

Andover Days 2006 were originally scheduled for June, but were rained out. The event was rescheduled in the fall and held to coincide with September's Art in the Park.
