Joan C. Post

Joan C. Post, 80, of Orleans, formerly of Andover, died Jan. 9 at her home following a brief battle with cancer.

A talented craftswoman, Mrs. Post produced works in many media. Known as a caring and giving person, she enjoyed spinning and weaving as well as sharing new techniques with friends, her family said.

Born in The Netherlands, Mrs. Post grew up in Amersfoort. She came to the United States in 1950, living in Middletown, N.Y. Mrs. Post moved to Orleans in 1994, after having lived in Andover for 34 years.

Family members include her two sons, Chris and his wife, Stacey; and Martin and his wife, Martha; and four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Post, who died in 2000.

A private family ceremony is planned. Memorial donations may be made to Amnesty International, 5 Penn Plaza, New York, NY 10001, or www.amnestyusa.org.
