Thomas H. Curtin


Thomas H. Curtin, 80, of Andover and Wolfeboro, N.H., died Thursday, Dec. 28, after a sustained illness.

Mr. Curtin was born in Oak Park, Ill.

He served in the Air Corps at the end of World War II, and shortly thereafter attended the University of Illinois.

He became a photo engraver and then, in 1966, the owner/ operator of McDonald's in Andover and later in Bradford and Haverhill.

Mr. Curtin retired in 1997. He enjoyed playing golf, jogging 5K races and playing tennis. His cottage in New Hampshire was always jam-packed with kids, grandchildren, relatives and friends during the summer months, his family said.

Family members include his wife of 54 years, Violet; his daughter, Beth and son-in-law James Bysheim; son, Thomas; son, Michael and daughter-in-law Allyson Rollenhagen; daughter, Judith; son, Mark and daughter-in-law Barbara; son, Robert and daughter-in-law Kristine; six grandchildren; sisters, Margaret and brother-in-law Stan Cooper, Virginia Spraitz, and Claire and brother-in-law Ralph Weiley.

He was predeceased by a sister and two brothers.

Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 60 Island St., Suite 2, Lawrence, MA 01840; or to Lazarus House Ministries, 410 Hampshire St., Lawrence, MA 01841.

Funeral arrangements were by Dewhirst & Conte Funeral Home.
