Committee receptive to Tucker's 'MCAS Challenge' idea
At the last School Committee meeting, on Oct. 24, state Sen. Susan Tucker, D-Andover, proposed the idea of holding one or more Saturday meetings in Andover for the purpose of having parents of Andover students come and take a "slice of the MCAS," and then discuss the contents of the examination.
AP Scholar Awards announced at AHS
Twenty-two students at Andover High School have been named AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement (AP) Examinations. Only about 13 percent of the more than 700,000 students who took AP Examinations in May 2000 performed at a sufficiently high level to merit such recognition.
