School races uncontested
At least no new School Committee members will be losing their hair over the rigors of public service. Gerry Gustus, left, and Joseph Gleason celebrate their elections to SchoolCommittee posts Tuesday night. Gustus is now a member of the Andover School Commitee along with Skip Eccles, not pictured, who ran for reelection this year. Gleason was reelected as Andover's representative to the Greater Lawrence Techncial School District SchoolCommittee. Gustus, an native of Somerville and parent of a student in Andover schools, hopes to represent parent concerns on the board. Eccles, a retired math teacher and dean of students at Phillips Academy, earned 2,181 votes. Gustus garnered 1,774 votes. The race for Andover School Committee was uncontested. School Committee member Tim McCarron, who finished his first three-year term this year, declined to run for reelection.
