Andover is, in a number of ways, in mourning this week. That is especially sad at what is supposed to be a time of celebration and festivity.

Next Friday night, Dec. 31, will be filled with the sounds of champagne corks popping, friends and strangers kissing, and inspired toasts offered to just about everything under the moon.
