West Middle gets that sinking feeling
To succeed at their latest science assignment at West Middle School, Todd Fawcett's students didn't just have to rise to the top, they had to sink and rise to the top again.

Selectman says don't make school look like a school
Selectman Larry Larsen had one bit of advice Monday night for members of the School Building Committee who presented preliminary plans for two new schools.

Special needs screening
The Andover Public Schools will conduct an Early Childhood screening to assist parents in identifying children who may have special needs. Parents who are concerned that their 3- or 4-year-old children may have delays in development, such as in speech and language, fine and gross motor, or behavioral or social skills are encouraged to call Virginia Champagne at the Shawsheen School (623-8858) to request a screening appointment for one of the following dates:November 19, 1999; January 21, 2000 or March 10, 2000.

Governor to visit South School
Gov. Paul A. Cellucci is scheduled to visit South School on Friday. at 10 a.m.
