Townsman Editorial: Sox - the only game in town
There are plenty of mundane tasks to do this week. Columbus Day is over. It's time to get back to school and back to work. There are classes to attend, lessons to take and homework to do. There are reports to write, meetings to attend and sales calls piling up in the Rolodex.
The worse-than-expected Mozart effect
The good news, for all of you parents who are passionate about giving your kids a head start, a leg up, a helping hand and an advance ticket to Lake Woebegone, is that I have convincing evidence that the so-called "Mozart effect" is real.
Riding the rail thing
I love people. My idea of a good time when I was a kid was to go to Logan Airport and sit in the terminal, just watching people. Now I take the train and do the same thing (if I'm not reading the latest Spenser). The people you are about to meet are only a smattering of the train population, but if you take the train, you know who they are.
